FPV Drone Filming – a very real alternative
How do you create video which gives a real insight into your organisation? FPV drone filming is a very real alternative to the usual fare. First Person View shots give the viewer an all round, dynamic perspective of what you can offer, allowing a very ‘lived-in’ experience.
When our friends over at UBIQ Education put us in touch with the wonderful Monkton Combe School near Bath we were happy to help with shots for their new website. An in-depth, full day recce with the pilot gave us a great understanding of what was possible in this most beautiful of settings. A carefully constructed shooting schedule over three days was developed to capture fifteen, complex and informative sequences.

There is no doubt that FPV drone filming is a challenge, and with this shoot there were so many moving parts it’s fair to say there was some trepidation. With 100% percent concentration, especially from the astonishing pilot, Jack and the incredible co-operation of the staff and pupils at both the Senior and Prep schools certainly made this all possible, chuck in some perfect weather and we had a shoot that was trouble free over all three days.
We were able to highlight the amazing academic, sporting and pastoral facilities on offer to pupils ranging from four to eighteen years old, and a fair few animals as well, all of whom took to our FPV drone filming as if it were an everyday event. Who said never work with children and animals!
